Altano is the obvious place to start given he won the Prix Du Cadran over 2m4f here at the Arc meeting. He beat Marco Botti's Tac De Boistron with Les Beaufs, last year's winner of this, a below par eighth. But this looks tougher as he steps back down in trip and fellow German raider Quinzieme Monarque could give him something to think about. The latter never figured behind Novellist last time though he was beaten only a length in the German Derby. Michael Bell's The Lark returned to winning ways in the Park Hill last time and also has claims, but it could pay to stick with EBIYZA. Alain De Royer-Dupre's filly was beaten a head in a Group 2 here on Arc weekend but awarded the race in the stewards' room and further progress is expected from her given she only made her racecourse debut in July.
