Treve attempts to make history with an unprecedented third success and the brilliant mare has looked better than ever so far this year. She easily won her prep-race in the Group 1 Prix Vermeille here last month and today's main worries are seemingly the drying ground and the presence of GOLDEN HORN. The latter put a shock defeat at York behind him with a messy success in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown last time but a combination of good ground and the return to 1m4f may see John Gosden's colt back to his very best today. New Bay has yet to match the exploits of the aforementioned duo but he won at the highest level back in May and is held in high regard by French maestro Andre Fabre. Stablemate Flintshire found Treve too good in this last year along with Dolniya, Prince Gibraltar and Tapestry while Found and Free Eagle filled the places behind the selection at Leopardstown and more is needed from them. Eagle Top needs to reproduce his second to Postponed in the King George at Ascot to figure and Manatee finished well behind Treve here last month.
