Asiatic is taken to recoup losses at the expense of Nantucket Sound and newcomer Saameq. Mark Johnston's juveniles have paid to follow this season and Asiatic should add to the tally judged on the evidence so far. Sent off as market leader at Ayr after being touched off on his Haydock debut, the drop back in trip at the Scottish track seemed against him and Asiatic could only finish fourth. His tendency to hang under pressure was a worry first time, but the soft ground probably did not help and he gets a chance to put matters right at the third time of asking. Nantucket Sound was slowly away on his Chepstow bow but was staying on well at the end and can improve foe the extra furlong, while Saameq is bred to stay at least a mile and can pay to follow in time. Bakhtyar and Ma Yahab both hail from powerful stables as well, but for the winner we return to Asiatic to get off the mark.
