Verdict

A number of these have fair claims on the pick of their form and it is a competitively framed race for the grade. And previous course and distance winner Maritime Blues is just preferred over Aramus, Sacred Love and Bright Eagle. The James Given-trained selection put in a much improved effort at Colwick Park last time and showed a willing attitude to hold on when pressed for the lead near the finish. A 5lb rise in the weights does make his task a little harder this time around but he has been allowed plenty of time to recover and should be raring to go if he runs up to his previous profile. Raoul Duffy is another to consider if he is supported on course and will be hard to keep out of the frame. But there is not much between him and Aramus so it may pay to side with proven battler Maritime Blues for win only purposes.
