Formwatch
Fromsong (IRE) showed enough last year to suggest he could develop into a smart sprinter and is probably worth taking a chance with in a competitive affair. Having bolted up in maiden company at Bath, this Fayruz colt then ran a blinder on soft ground when second in the Group Three Cornwallis Stakes. He clearly has plenty of scope and could prove too good for Sir Francis, who won well on his final run last year at Yarmouth but seems a good deal more exposed overall. Inspector General has been disappointing since winning his first three races but could prove more effective back over the minimum trip, while Shoeshine Boy and The Trader are others with reasonable place claims. But the biggest danger could be Red Millennium, who was a model of consistency last season and was only a neck behind the selection in their last race at Newbury.
