This looks a great opportunity for Prince Of Gold to follow-up his recent Beverley success. There was plenty to like about that gutsy effort on the Westwood and this trip and look to be ideal for the colt, who is very well treated on official ratings. He is taken to confirm that the recent win was no fluke and make it two in succession. Dennis Our Menace does not look so well treated off a mark of 68, but did win this last year off a 1lb lower rating, so he has to merit respect, though he would prefer a little more juice in the ground. Duelling Banjos perhaps has more appeal. Successive wins over a mile saw him go up 12lbs for his latest start, when well beaten at Ascot. Dropped 2lb since, he still looks to have a stiffish task, but a better effort is anticipated. Adobe does not seem to be the force of old and has not won for nigh on two years. However, the gelding has taken a long time to drop down the weights after some consistent efforts and his latest start at Warwick suggests that he might still have a bit of a squeak here. Meanwhile, Arpeggio looks to be better treated, seems to go on any ground and loves this trip. He could be the one to give the selection most to do.
