      Verdict

      MENG TIAN was sent off favourite at Kempton on his debut and missed out by only a head. Sean Woods’ colt can go one better with normal progress though he was beaten by a Richard Hannon representative on that occasion and the latter runs Groom, a half-brother to a winner in Italy. It should also be noted that the latter yard has also won the last two renewals of this. Adeb is a half-brother to the prolific Seen The Lyte and is preferred to both Bolton Abbey and Devon Envoy of the remainder.
