In depth

Verdict

The market should provide the best idea of the pecking order and in the absence of that vital information, Truly Enchanting is taken to uphold form with Jacaranda Ridge. The selection did well to be second at Windsor from an unfavourable draw and looked as if it would be a case of sooner rather than later as far as winning opportunities were concerned. Jacaranda Ridge is likely to be prominent from the gate and looks a resolute individual on the evidence we have seen thus far. Devon House is from a late maturing family so might possibly need this first introduction. That seemed to be very much the case when Prima Ballerina had her first race at Windsor. In Safe Hands proves the benchmark from a form assessor's perspective while the expensively bought Cat Six ran a fair race on debut here but cannot be backed with confidence given Brian Meehan's recent stable form. Fondled is impeccably bred but it is a big question mark as to how effective she will be on the likely going. Truly Enchanting caught the eye on debut and we will not oppose her to make a winning follow-up.
