West End Lad won well at Leicester last month though a 7lb rise in the weights conspired to make life difficult for him at Newcastle, and the handicapper isn't in any mood to compromise. Ashdown Lad proved himself able to go well fresh when securing a claimer at Sandown last season, but MUBTADI looks on an upward curve so we won't desert him. A winner of three races at Lingfield and a further contest at Wolverhampton, he successfully translated that form to turf at Bath, and the 6lb rise accrued for victory shouldn't be enough to stop him. West Brit looks highly interesting on a return to the Flat. Formerly with Ed Dunlop, he lost his way over hurdles having shown some initial promise and the handicapper's allocation of a mark of 75 could be helpful. Vastly makes a handicap debut and is worth closely noting in the betting.
