in touch, hampered and lost place after 3f, headway over 3f out, soon ridden, stayed on to go 2nd inside final furlong, not trouble winner
held up, ridden and switched right over 2f out, no impression
slowly into stride, in touch, ridden and headway over 2f out, one pace final furlong

This provides Karaoke with the chance to end a frustrating run of near misses and he is preferred over Lilli Marlane, who has a little more to do at this level, and Go tech, who has been too expensive to follow to seriously recommend as a win only proposition. Rotuma, on the other hand, has held his form well for the most part and could easily go close to spoiling the part for them all if he can shrug off his 7lb rise since winning a slightly weaker race at Beverley 11 days ago. However, he does need to have things drop just right for him and he would not be one to trust implicitly at this level. In contrast to Karaoke, who has dropped to a very favourable mark and can put his obvious liking for this course to good use. Set to race off a 2lb lower mark than the last time he won at the track, Karaoke has an ideal opportunity to get a confidence booster under his belt and it will be very interesting to see if he takes up any of his entries over the next few days if successful here.
