Vering was tailed off when Lamb's Cross won over course and distance at the start of the month. Mark Gillard's charge is 6lb higher but Paul John's claim takes care of the extra and he should be thereabouts again. Captain Knock hasn't raced since winning over a shorter trip on fast ground at Taunton in October while Bob Will just can't get his head in front and is now tried in blinkers. Head Spin appears to have lost his way, though this is a drop in class. DANCING DIK was clear and still travelling strongly when falling at the third-last at Plumpton earlier this month. Racing off the same mark, he should gain compensation here with a clear round.
