Sparky's Spirit made his debut over fences in a three-horse race at Wincanton but, though jumping well enough, never looked like getting to the winner. CAWDOR HOUSE BERT landed a novices' handicap at Ffos Las in February and only just failed to defy a 3lb rise back there earlier this month. He's up by the same amount here but, providing the ground doesn't dry out, he can go in again. Coudefoudre showed nothing over timber but did a bit better over fences at Taunton and, with his stable in outstanding form, has to be respected. Matrow's Lady has managed to win five races but looked to have had enough for the time being when refusing when tailed off at Fontwell last month.
