Verdict
Mambo Sun can quickly step up on what was a promising debut to account for Prime Bere, Wensleydale Star and Kaladin to name but three. Mark Bradburne partnered Mambo Sun when he was one of two Paul Blockley inmates on show in a similar race over the course-and-distance last Tuesday. The former Flat performer gave a good account in finishing second in a race in which only three finished of the 10 that set out, with Wensleydale Star being one of the casualties. The latter was close up in fourth when coming to grief three out, otherwise he may well have been placed at the very least, and providing that mishap has not left its mark, he may be a danger. Prime Bere showed little in three starts over hurdles in France, but kept good company in the main and does at least handle cut in the ground. Any support in the ring for Pipe's charge could be significant. Kaladin got no futher than the third on his Stratford bow and was nothing special on the Flat. He is only lightly-raced though and hails from the right sort of yard. Our vote goes to Mambo Sun.
