Verdict

ALANJOU has benefited for a switch of yards and a return to hurdling having won both starts for Barry Brennan so far. A wide-margin winner at Huntingdon last time, he has a hike in the weights to contend with but has rated much higher in the past and the hat-trick beckons. Skinflint has a shout on recent placed efforts including a second over these obstacles. He’s preferred to stablemate Picture Painter while Prophets Prayer and Western Sunrise filled the places over track and trip last month with Calin Du Brizais further behind though finished a long way behind an easy winner. A 9lb rise proved beyond Midnight Aurora at Aintree last time while Bermeo is best over fences and scored at Fontwell recently. Eddy had been threatening before returning a disappointing favourite at Fontwell last month.
