Richard Johnson has partnered Lamool, who beat Theatre Goer by 10 lengths over course and distance in July, to two of his three victories this year and has also ridden stablemate Uncle Tone in the past. But he gets the leg-up today on AL ALFA, a useful chaser who arrives off the back of a fairly comfortable win at Stratford. The eight-year-old didn't make the frame in four hurdle runs back in 2012 but is more the finished article now. Native Robin still has a bit of scope but Tom Scudamore gets off Lilbourne Legacy to ride failed chaser Tresor De La Vie.
