Verdict

Course and distance winner Saby can beat the other recent winner Deep King, with Bill Owen and Measure The Man worth a second glance. The latter makes his seasonal reappearance but should be noted in the market, while Bill Owen should be sharper for his first outing since August at Fontwell. He landed a touch at the Sussex track before his break and is another for whom the market would speak volumes. However, there was a lot to like about Saby's performance here when put back to maiden company a month ago. Given the office from the word go, he was never going to be caught, and with that confidence-boosting success under his belt, he is expected to make a bold bid to follow up back among the handicappers. He has taken on good company in the past, including the likes of Talbot Lad and company at Newbury in March and should have nothing to fear now. Deep King had failed to settle this year but finally came good at Southwell last time when ridden by Richard Young who keeps the mount. He has been put up a total of 11bs for that win though and will find that something of a burden. With that in mind, we return to Saby as the answer.
