The short list for this handicap consists of Cottingham, Command Marshal and Look Of Eagles, with the selection being Cottingham. Silverhay has it to prove now from his revised mark, while Cottingham has won three of his nine hurdle races and seems to us to be on a competitive mark so gets a fair shout. Moon Star won twice in April and subsequent efforts see him dropped to just three pounds above the best of those, while Command Marshal is open to a bit of improvement, has shown enough to be considered and is not ruled out of going well. Rustler warmed up for this with a fair Flat run, his first for over 600 days, but he will need to better his hurdling efforts to date if he is to feature today. Better going than for his last two efforts could well show Robert Alner's Karinga Kream in a better light, while Share My Dream is admirably consistent but now has a career-high mark to defy if she is going to score today. Marigolds Way is another lightly-raced improver that could go well, and the market could well guide with regard to her chances, and Look Of Eagles is not ruled based on her Worcester effort when second to Soprano, and she has had just three runs over hurdles. In what is quite an interesting affair of its kind, the selection, once again, is Cottingham.
