    Verdict

Ropey Guest edges this at the weights though the drop back to 6f on soft going is a worry having only won a novices’ race over 7f so far. Ainsdale moves back up in distance having recorded last year’s hat-trick over 5f while Lampang will be sharper for a recent comeback run but last season’s effort in soft ground in the Rockingham at York doesn’t boost confidence. He finished well behind runner-up VENTURA LIGHTNING on that occasion and the latter gets another chance having undergone wind surgery after a couple of disappointing efforts back in June.
