      Verdict

      The Johnstons’ stable has won this a couple of times and Rose Of Kildare, beaten less than a length in a similar contest here two weeks ago, is top rated, though no five-year-old has been successful in the past. Technique is held on the form book, however. Three-year-olds have won the last three renewals and Star Fortress could be anything having got off the mark in comfortable fashion at Chelmsford but ELEGANT VERSE was far too keen tried in this grade at Newbury last month and she might be worth another chance given she still has time on her side.
