Verdict
In an interesting fillies' handicap, Maddies A Jem might just get back to winning ways, but the likes of Bandit Queen, Glencoe Solas, Silver Chime and, possibly Flashing Blade, are all also worthy of consideration. Maddies A Jem is having a great season and is looking for her third win from just four seasonal outings today. Much as she was beaten from today's mark the last time out, she was arguably unlucky that day at Nottingham as she was racing on the unfavoured side. Clearly, she remains in good heart and should go well. Bandit Queen ran a blinder to be third to Enchanted - who runs earlier on the card - at Ripon last time and, now rated just a pound higher, can run well again today. Physically, Flashing Blade is a filly that we have long-since liked and feel sure she will come good one day. Maybe the cheekpieces will help in that respect today, although they will need to. Silver Chime looked to be coming to hand last time and now races from the mark that saw her win at Leicester last summer. Glencoe Solas runs again quickly following a good effort when just beaten by Boavista at Bath three days, and could conceivably be in the shake-up, while Complication actually beat Boavista when winning a Thirsk maiden last season - form that, if literally taken, gives her little chance of beating Glencoe Solas. With the others proving hard to fancy, the selection wheel spins back to Maddies A Jem, who can strike gold for the third time this season.
