Twilight Son won this last year before going on to glory in the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock and Whitman and VENTUROUS also have lofty ambitions. The former has an entry in the Irish 2000 Guineas while Godolphin is targeting the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot with the latter. The Ravens Pass colt gets the nod as he won here and at Doncaster last year and had excuses when only beating one home in the Middle Park in September as he reared as the stalls opened and was playing catch-up thereafter. Yattwee runs in the same colours but has a lot more to do than when winning a Southwell maiden over a longer trip on debut. Pontefract winner Stamp Hill could figure if further rain falls and Hope Cove made a promising reappearance here earlier in the month and was a model of consistency last year.
