Sir Michael Stoute has a strong hand here saddling both York's Middleton Stakes winner Crystal Capella and Ave, a recent winner of a Group 3 at Gowran Park, and both have claims but marginal preference is for ASHALANDA. Alain de Royer-Dupre's filly is less exposed than most of her rivals but has shown a decent level of form having been narrowly beaten in a Group 3 race in Italy last time following her narrow success in a Group 2 race at Saint-Cloud previously and she looks worth siding with on her British debut. Saeed bin Suroor's Baila Me escapes a penalty for her Group 1 success in Germany last season and has to be respected on her belated reappearance but more solid claims are probably held by High Heeled, who was good value for her defeat of Ave at York in the summer and was not disgraced in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on her most recent start for Barry Hills. She makes more appeal than John Gosden's Charity Belle.
