RAIN MAC is capable of much better and is narrowly preferred in another open maiden. John Gosden's colt went off at 7/2 on debut at Kempton but was very green and was well-held in a race won by Marston Moor. He has been given time to mature and with class and stamina on his dam's side he is expected to step up massively on that today. Odin is another who can improve on his debut run, something that both Grumeti (representing last year's winning trainer) and Bumbling Bertie will need to do if they are to feature. Of more interest is Charles Fosterkane who ran a blinder at Lingfield and Fulgar who sets the form standard after his second (ahead of a few of these) to Seattle Drive here last month. Halfsin is another to have shaped with promise, whilst any market support for the newcomers Circus Star, Malanos or Rasam Aldaar wold arouse some interest.
