Derby winner Sir Percy, who has only met defeat once in his career (when second to George Washington in the 2,000 Guineas) makes his first appearance since his Epsom success but may find the ground too testing for him, while Arc second and fourth Pride and Hurricane Run may find this coming too soon and may not appreciate the drop in trip so preference is for Notnowcato. Sir Michael Stoute's colt has progressed all season putting up a career best effort when rallying late on to land the International at York when last seen in August. His stablemate's Maraahel, who finished second behind the selection at York, and Rob Roy may well have to play a minor role again on similar ground to the Knavesmire. French Oaks winner Confidential Lady should have little difficulty with either the trip or ground and has to be considered, while 2,000 Guineas third Olympian Odyssey is probably best ignored after his latest disappointing effort. Notnowcato has been nothing but progressive this term though and is taken to win a second Group 1 race today.
