Great Ambassador finished third in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood a fortnight ago and that form gives him the beating of both Rathbone and Meraas. First Folio can do better back on faster going today having won at York two runs ago while Aplomb ran well over the minimum trip at Ascot last week and will be sharper for that. Sunset Breeze drops down from 7f but PREMIER POWER has been gelded since returning a beaten favourite at Kempton back in February. An entry in next month’s Ayr Gold Cup suggests better things are expected from the latter and Roger Varian’s yard remains in fine form.
