Another interesting contest on the Newmarket card with our shortlist consisting of Dubrovsky, Cellarmaster, Marbush, and the selection, Trueno. A French winner on soft going, the selection is closely weighted with Solo Flight and Barking Mad based on Newmarket form in May. However, that race was run at only a steady pace and he also looks to have improved since then. Also, if you are prepared to ignore his latest run, when the pace of the race did not suit him - something which should not apply today - then he could well be worth another chance on the balance of his best form. Dubrovsky has been disappointing of late but is now rated four pounds lower than when running well here last July. Much as his last effort was a headscratcher, he attracted some money and it could be that give in the going is needed to see him at his best. Marbush was ahead of Boule d'Or at Ascot last time and, still improving, could go well, although he has no form on going with give in it. Based on his victory last time, Cellarmaster is improving and, lightly-raced, he has to be considered, although more will be needed based on literal evidence of what he has so far achieved. Solo Flight is now dropping in the ratings and wold hold claims on the best of his efforts over the last 18 months, but the others might just about be on the right mark if applying handicap marks. Overall, then, once again, we will side with Trueno.
