Wolfcatcher won for Andre Fabre in France and over hurdles for John Ferguson last year. He’s now joined Charlie Appleby though the handicapper has taken no chances rating him 94 back on the Flat. DESERT ENCOUNTER looks a safer bet as he continued his good progress to land a handicap at Doncaster a fortnight ago and this extra distance should suit. Vive Ma Fille still looks high enough in the weights, despite a further drop, but Intense Tango went close off a similar mark at Chelmsford in January. It remains to be seen if Poyle Thomas retains all his ability having missed the whole of last year but he did win over 1m7f here in 2014.
