Verdict

Popmaster won twice last summer and ran in top handicaps the last twice while GALE FORCE MAYA followed victories at Pontefract and here before beaten a short-head in a Listed contest over this track and trip. Chipstead went from landing a Class 5 handicap at Bath to completing a hat-trick there at this level, all on fast ground. He's lightly-raced and likely to improve further while Dancinginthewoods is only 1lb higher than when scoring on the July Course last summer. Bergerac has race-fitness on his side and the faster the ground the better while Strike Red was in very good form for most of last season.
