      Verdict

      Pirate wasn’t beaten far despite finishing fourth of five on his handicap debut. Stablemate Rollicking went close at Haydock in June and was placed again here on her third start but didn’t run up that form at Doncaster last month. GREENBACK BOOGIE is a consistent sort who bettered his win at Epsom when third at Goodwood. He looks the one to beat as Cupboard Love was well behind in that latter race, though missed the break and was eased in the closing stages. Eyelool finally came good at Epsom but that form hasn’t worked out and he does need to settle better. Pogo ran well against smart juveniles in his first two starts but didn’t appear to get home over this trip at Salisbury.
