In depth

Verdict

Boscobel gets the vote here ahead of Ten A Penny and Overrule. The Mark Johnston-trained Boscobel has looked progressive on the all-weather, winning all three starts. He has to rate as very interesting on his Turf debut. Overrule looked an improved perfomer when winning at Windsor last and he surely has even better to come, while Ten A Penny comes here as a winner of all four of his starts, the latest of them coming on Turf where he looked as though he had even more to come, which will be needed because he has been raised six pounds in the ratings. Interestingly, he beat a Mark Johnston runner on that occasion. Stevie Gee's form has tailed off in his last two starts so he will have to recapture earlier promise if he is to feature, while it is hard to know what to make of Duke Of Tuscany's frst attempt at 10 furlongs last time, although connections have persevered at the trip and he comes here fit. Boscobel's stable companion Hearthstead Maison has a bit to prove now although the trip should suit, while Hart Of Gold has it to prove from hs current rating. Once again, then, the selection is Boscobel.
