        Verdict

        Brilliant Vanguard has been thereabouts since recording a hat-trick earlier this year so is not easily dismissed but the progressive SALT WHISTLE BAY is preferred. The latter landed a double during the summer and went in again at Nottingham last month. There could be even more to come from Rae Guest’s charge and he’s preferred to Swiss Storm, who is having only his second start since May. Battle Of Marathon has shown signs of a resurgence lately having tumbled down the weights and could also figure.
