The booking of Pat Eddery, close to his minimum weight, immediately catches the eye for Satyr, who showed a return to form when second over nine furlongs at Kempton last time. He is fully 21 pounds lower now than when winning at Thirsk just over a year ago, and a bold bid is certainly anticipated. Blue Reigns was a talented juvenile but has shown little in the last twelve months and has clearly had his problems. Topton is a consistent sort who often runs well here, but he does not win very often and the handicapper may have his measure at the moment. Pagan Sky has plenty of scope and is an obvious danger. Having won his maiden at Goodwood, he did well to chase home Desertion in a Classified Stakes at Sandown, and races off the same mark here. Tarboush has maintained a good level of consistency since winning at Newbury last month and should again not be too far away, while the handicapper may now have the measure of Lygeton Lad, who is now seven pounds higher than his most recent course and distance victory.
