      Verdict

      Midsummer Knight has a line of consistent form on artificial surfaces and wasn't beaten far in handicap company last time but has found the knack of discovering one too good. He should be in the mix again but COWBOY SOLDIER shaped really well on his Nottingham debut last season and seems a surefire improver at three. Hopefully he'll be ready to handle the aforementioned Burke inmate as well as Black Sails who went close at Wolverhampton earlier in the month and who now has first-time cheekpieces applied. Gowanbuster was quite impressive when scoring here last November but is penalised accordingly and Harrogate showed enough during a predominantly consistent juvenile campaign to be of interest too. He has been gelded since his final start of last season.
