An interesting maiden hurdle may see Into The Shadows translate her Flat form to timber, with Wing Commander an obvious candidate, and the likes of Caraman and Dubonai not to be dismissed. Like his mother, Keith Reveley knows what it takes to get one ready for the winter game, and Into The Shadows should have a bright future if her Flat form is anything to go by. She won her last two races on the level, here and at Newmarket in good style and as the latter race was over a middle-distance, she will have no problem staying two miles over hurdles. She is fit and gets weight from all of the other fancied contenders, and it must be remembered that she took on decent company such as Secret Ploy in her bumper days. Wing Commander was rated a good 20lb higher than the selection on the Flat but was a bit disappointing when sent off favourite at Sedgefield, finding Cotty's Rock too good, and has to prove that he has the required stamina for the winter game. In addition he is worse off at the weights with Dubonai who was third at Sedgefield, and is worth taking on. Caraman ran above expectations at Cheltenham and is out to prove that was no fluke, but he will find Into The Shadows a tough opponent and if she takes to the obstacles, a big run is anticipated.
