There is no doubting that Mr Dinos has all the ticks in the right places and bearing in mind his trainer's record in the race, he must have a serious chance. The only negatives are that following the withdrawals of some of his main rivals and him being handed a high draw - his odds could become a little too cramped for such a competitive contest. Archduke Ferdinand, last year's winner and stablemate of Mr Dinos, has also hit top gear at the right time after just being denied a Royal Ascot victory by Cover Up last week. However, the drop back in trip may not be ideal for him now and he may struggle to reverse Chester Cup form with Riyadh - who also hails from a yard with a good record in this contest and holds Hugs Dancer on his Ascot form. Travelmate also makes plenty of appeal after a couple outings to put him straight and the return to two miles should be ideal for him. He races off just 1lb higher than when he finished as runner up to Bay Of Islands in the 1999 renewal and is ideally berthed to gain a good early position - although any rain would be a big help to his cause. Any each way support for Damask Rose could also be significant now that she has proved her stamina.
