        Verdict

        The in-form Rey Loopy beat previous winner Trevithick by only a neck over course and distance in January and that pair are hard to separate. Samphire Coast won at Kempton earlier and ran well again when second at Chelmsford a fortnight ago while Trinity Star won twice on the turf last year but hasn’t raced since July. THAAYER (NAP) also returns to action having won a novices race over track and trip in November on his debut for Rebecca Menzies’ yard. He beat the progressive Matterhorn, who has won five straight races since, on that occasion with subsequent dual winner Holy Heart four lengths back in third and gets the vote on the strength of that form.
