In depth

Verdict

ROUGE VIF has to concede weight all round but should have the class to get back to winning ways after a fine run behind subsequent Grade 2 winner Mister Fisher at Kempton - an earlier victory at Southwell has also been franked. The four-year-old Qawamees made a promising start at Wetherby and will know more today so makes more appeal than recent course and distance third Point Break and Skye Chief, who disappointed on his reappearance at Catterick. Oscar Wilde needs more but Summer Lightening has won a bumper here and River Glades has decent form on the Flat up to 2m.
