Some speedy horses have won this race over the years and SECRET ASSET might just be the answer to another cracking renewal of the Gosforth Park Cup. It's almost two years since the grey last got his head in front but he's taken on some of the world's top sprinters in the interim and the handicapper looks to have dangled a real carrot for him with a handicap mark of 96. Robert Cowell is fast building a name as a handler of European sprinters and Jiroft hasn't been far away in two hot sprints since joining the yard. Jack Luey is still improving and is arguably a bigger price than his form entitles due to his unfashionable connections. Stone Of Folca is capable of running another solid race on his favoured ground while the in-form Lucky Numbers will need all the gaps to appear at the right time. Captain Dunne and Confessional are admirable campaigners that are sure to run their races again.
