The last three winners of this have lumped more than 9st to victory and two of those winners started favourite so class appears to be coming to the fore. Clever Cookie has developed into a very smart stayer but is a hold-up horse and, though a low draw can be a distinct advantage, the top weight could be in danger of finding trouble in-running from stall one - he would also have preferred a much easier surface. Willie Mullins' Max Dynamite is a fascinating runner as he's a decent hurdler and was a Group-class performer on the level in 2013. The lightly-raced Seamour beat a whole host of today's rivals when scoring at Haydock last month and looks the pick of Brian Ellison's quartet but one of those behind, NEARLY CAUGHT, is fancied to turn the tables here and come out best overall. Hughie Morrison's charge has always looked capable of winning a race like this and handled Polytrack well enough on his reappearance so shouldn't mind the quicker surface. Last year's winner Angel Gabrial is 7lb higher and was behind stable companions Gabrial's King and Gabrial's Star in the Chester Cup but Oasis Fantasy is worth a second look. He was only beaten half-a-length by Quest For More over 1m6f at Goodwood last month and got no sort of run behind Blue Surf at Epsom last time - the step up to 2m could bring about further improvement.
