Verdict

Assuming that the ground doesn't deteriorate too much then Kalmo Bay can win again; if the wintry weather hits then it may pay to side with Just For Men. Kalmo Bay was given a peach of a ride when coming off the pace at Musselburgh and with jockey Tom Dreaper keeping the ride (in the absence of the injured Graham Lee), another big run can be expected. He wouldn't want much rain but he could be up to defying this 8lb higher mark. Dawn Ride is a course and distance winner and appreciated the drop in trip when disposing of Red Dawn last time out, whilst Raining Horse won well at the course last time out and may have enough pace to cope with the drop in trip today. Just For Men must rate a major player; he ran with distinction in a better race last time out and his form since going chasing has been very solid; further rain would play to his strengths. Red Scally is very consistent and has been mixing hurdling and chasing well and a return to Novice company makes him of interest. Sticky End completes the field but couldn't win this in a month of Sundays and so we will return to Kalmo Bay for the winner.
