Verdict

The first running on the all-weather of this famous old handicap. Well beaten at Ascot recently, No Heretic had won the Chester Cup before that with several of these behind including the favourite Steve Rogers, Gang Warfare and stablemates Gabrial The Hero and Angel Gabrial. But NAKEETA (NAP) was beaten only a short-head in second and has worked well since in a private gallop at the track. Iain Jardine’s charge looks to have every chance in his current form. Both Steve Rogers and Gang Warfare have won on the all-weather before and so has Seamour while Arch Villain landed a double on the Polytrack at Lingfield early this year. My Reward arrives in fine form having won over 2m at Haydock where he beat Moscato while Godolphin’s Polarisation was ahead of stablemate Antiquarium when scoring at York last year before beating Nakeeta over 1m4f at Hamilton in August. Saigon City won at York last month ahead of The Cashel Man, who runs in the consolation race earlier on the card.
