In depth

Verdict

By now punters will have a pointer as to the chances of DIKLERS OSCAR from the running of The Knoxs earlier in the card, but given that Keith Reveley's mare ran so well behind that Howard Johnson inmate earlier in the campaign, she probably has enough ability to break her maiden here. The seven-year-old came back to the track and ran with credit over 2m 6f, but this drop in trip looks ideal and although untried on genuine soft ground, she handles some cut and will hopefully be good enough. Just For Jean handles conditions and given Donald McCain's record with his female inmates a win would be no great shock, though on what we have seen so far she is going to have to show a bit of improvement. Tchikita should come on plenty for her Kelso debut in December and wouldn't need to find too much more to have frame claims, while Gwyre has shown ability in a couple of novices' hurdles so far this season and with her age allowance is entitled to get hugely competitive. 60s-rated flat performer Hydrophonic acts with cut on the level and just about stays 1m 1f, so she may well be able to stay the distance and is worth a market check, but preference is for Diklers Oscar.
