        Verdict

        Largely due to the quality of the opposition, it's impossible to oppose FRANCIS XAVIER in this maiden. Hugo Palmer's colt has been placed here and at Lingfield over this trip and that form is far superior to that of his rivals. Flying Raconteur may need more time but a run at Redcar late last month was not without promise, though the form hasn't been franked. Acker Bilk was 10 lengths behind the selection here last time and it's difficult to see him getting much closer today.
