MUMGOS DEBUT has been left on the same mark as when scoring at Ayr at the start of the month so must have every chance of a quick double in his second start since wind surgery. Halcyon Days was only worn down close home at Catterick before Christmas but has been raised 2lb. Brave Spartacus normally races over longer trips and isn’t getting any younger while it’s difficult to make a case for Black Kettle and Budarri on these terms.
Halcyon Days 7-2 (11-1) Led until 4th, led 4 out, headed before next, led last, driven flat, headed towards finish, 2nd of 5, 3/4l behind Midnight Chill (11-8) at Catterick 2m hcp (4) sft in Dec.
Brave Spartacus (IRE) 12-1 (11-4) Made most to before 4 out, outpaced in 3rd after 3 out, ridden and weakened last, 6th of 8, 36 1/2l behind Manwell (11-0) at Catterick 2m 3f hcp (4) gd in Jan.

Budarri 8-1 (11-12) Tracked clear pair, took closer order 9th, blundered 11th, took narrow 2nd after 4 out, not fluent next, soon ridden, kept on same pace, no chance with easy winner, 2nd of 6, 13l behind Djarkevi (11-5) at Catterick 2m 3f hcp (5) gs in Dec.
Black Kettle (IRE) 10-1 (11-8) Prominent, lost place 7th, soon behind, tailed off 3 out, last of 7, dist behind Echo Express (11-11) at Hexham 2m hcp (5) sft in Dec.
