Verdict

Winning pointer Extreme Appeal opened his account under Rules when landing an amateurs’ race over 1m4f at Doncaster but carries 4lb extra. MASTERS APPRENTICE makes more appeal on a close-up fourth over 2m at Chelmsford in January and gets the nod racing off a 6lb lower mark today. Betancourt was narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton the last time he raced over a similar trip while Urban Spirit has a shout on last year’s success over 2m at Ripon. Canford Thompson ended last year winning over hurdles and was placed off similar marks on the all-weather early last term while Ember's Glow has won twice over 1m4f but attempts this extra distance for the first time.
