        Verdict

        Mickleberry, Compton Lad and Fast Freddie are shortlisted in this maiden and the vote is given to Mickleberry. The selection is running over her optimum trip today and she will find this easier than some of the races she has been contesting of late. She has ground conditions to suit and should run a big race. Compton Lad was a little disappointing in a handicap at Musselburgh last time but this is less competitive and there is no doubt that on the pick of his form he would have claims. Fast Freddie was well beaten at Wolverhampton on Friday but the return to the turf should suit with these ground conditions a big plus. Optical Seclusion is another that failed to show his best in a handicap last time and although he has got some respectable form, he has plenty to prove at present. This is a poor race and for the winner we will return to Mickleberry.
