Good Time Ahead went close over today’s trip at Thirsk last time but has so far only won a maiden in 22 starts. Several of these have been thereabouts over 1m2f recently including Metronomic, Spirit Of The Vale and Warfare but Tred Softly was narrowly beaten over 1m4f at Beverley before a poor effort over hurdles and makes more appeal. The 2m trip at Thirsk proved beyond CARTHAGE last time but Brian Ellison’s charge drops down in class today and won off a 7lb higher mark over today’s distance last year.
