        Verdict

        Jan Smuts landed a similar handicap over the course and distance early last month but took a fierce hold and was soon beaten on a return visit. Thackeray has won three times on Turf but has never really looked like winning on an artificial surface. Ryan The Giant's long losing run continued in a Lingfield seller so this should go to PASS THE TIME. Neil Mulholland's mare, who has won seven races over jumps and four times on the level, is just 5lb higher than her victory over the trip at Southwell a year ago and doesn't have much to beat.
