Getting Ready looked a very nice prospect when cantering home in a maiden at Ayr over 2m in January but ran so poorly when tried over 2m4f there later that month that it couldn't have been his form. Prospective punters will have to forgive that latest effort but WINSTONE looks a safer option. George Charlton's gelding had shown promise on his opening bumper run and though totally unfancied ran a very good race on his hurdling debut at Musselburgh where he was staying on strongly at the finish. Sparkling Hand won a mares' maiden over the C&D in January where her stamina came into play and a strong gallop would see her go close here.
