        Verdict

        War Department is penalised for winning over 7f here two days ago but an apprentice’s allowance negates most of that and he stays this extra distance. Byres Road finished ahead of Eastern Dragon and Swift Emperor when narrowly beaten here earlier but disappointed when favourite at Chelmsford last time and AMBER MYSTIQUE (NAP) is preferred. The latter found Class 3 company beyond her at Wolverhampton when handicapping for the first time but should find this easier. Course regular Barwah won over track and trip for the third time in January but is now 7lb higher.
